My vision begins to blur, my stomach becomes nauseated, and my head aches viscously. My body painfully embraces the symptoms of a migraine. I turn the lights off and the pain keeps growing. I close my eyes intensely trying to pretend the throbbing does not exist. I gulp down medicine in order to end this agonizing pain. Nothing seems to relieve it. Apparently the doctor’s remedies do not work as the migraine takes over my body. There is one more option, medicinal marijuana. Throughout my history of chronic migraines I have welcomed an easing reliever into my life, marijuana. The pain brought on by the migraine is completely relieved by smoking. Ever since I have used the plant as a medicine to combat my migraines, I have moved on from viewing marijuana solely as a recreational drug, to viewing it as an herbal remedy.
The question is then raised on why marijuana is illegal when it has the ability to heal.

Good question. I think you have a really good reason to be writing about this subject in that it has helped you overcome a medical problem. I am excited to read more.
marijuana unfortunately isn't legal because corporate America cannot capitalize on the market. too many people grow the drug, and it would be nearly impossible for the FBI and/or DEA to prevent you or me from growing the drug. the truth is, America benefits from the illegalization of marijuana. Where does all the drug money after a drug raid? The government. Where does all of the illegal contraband go when you see the cops leaving the premises? The government and then it's sold somewhere else in the world. If the US could stand to make a profit off the legalization of marijuana, you can bet it would be legal. But it can't, so it wont. End of story.
I agree. Marijuana is a part of this earth vs prescription drugs (which are also effective) so why do we ban something growing from the ground and allow other poisons to be legal? It doesn't make sense
i hate taking medication, even for a headache...i just try to sleep it off. I can barely handle a little headache so i cant imagine what you are going through. Plus by taking medication you body gets immune to it and needs more every time you need it and it's not healing you either, it's just numbing your pain for a little while.
I think you have such credibility writing about this subject. I am interested to see how you will explore this topic further. It is something that I do not know much about.
I agree with you. I can't believe that someone would tell anyone that they cannot take a drug that helps them relieve pain just because they do not think its right. Nice start, and I like the story in the beginning; it paints a great picture.
I agree. From what I know about the use of marijuana its effects are far more mild then many legally available drugs.
